Elizabeth Mico, owner and director of Creative Soles Dance Company in Windermere, FL is a dedicated professional in the dance world and has been performing and studying dance for over 25 years. Liz was a competitive dancer for many years focusing on jazz, tap, ballet, musical theater, lyrical and hip-hop. As a native New Yorker, where she studied for most of her dance education, she had the opportunity to take master classes with some of the most notable choreographers of today including Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, and Brian Friedman, to name a few. All of whom have been showcased on top rated national television shows. She has not only studied at her local studio but also in programs at Broadway Dance Center and Steps, renowned schools in NYC. Liz was a dance major in her high school Performing Arts Institute and continued her studies as a dance minor at Hofstra University, Long Island, NY.
A well rounded performer; she notes performance opportunities on her resume that include both stage, television and locally as a performer for the Walt Disney Company. Liz had both principal dancer and leading roles in shows such as; “Funny Girl”, “Grease”, “Meet me in St. Louis” and “Annie”. She has also made appearances on NBC shows, “Ed” and “Law & Order”. Making the move to Orlando, FL in 2007, Liz followed her dream of performing with the Walt Disney World Company and did so for five years in various parades and shows throughout WDW property.
After almost 20 years of performing, Liz has taken a backseat and dedicated all of her energy to her greatest passion; dance instruction and choreography. Her true passion is teaching and giving people the opportunity to love the art of dance as much as she does. Studying dance education both in college and throughout the country at numerous dance intensives and conventions, dance instruction became second nature to her. Liz’s award winning choreography has since then brought home national awards from all over the country. It is her goal to instill the passion of performing and dance on every level, to every student that walks through the doors of her studio, Creative Soles Dance Company, which opened in 2013. Owning and operating a studio to call her own has been a dream for countless years. She has built an incredible reputation not only through dance instruction, but also as a Special Education and Dance teacher at local public school, Keene’s Crossing Elementary, Windermere, Florida.
Marissa Nicole Nicholas
Marissa was introduced to the art of dance at age 4 and grew up dancing at Shirley Nolan School of Dance in Palm Harbor, Florida. Under the direction of Shirley Nolan and Carol Ketchum,she studied Ballet (Cecchetti Method), Jazz, Tap, Lyrical/Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Acro and completed two of her ballet exams through the Cecchetti Council of America. Marissa started competitive dancing around the age of ten, in Tap, Jazz and Hip-Hop. In 2010 she began dancing with Just Dance Academy in Tarpon Springs, Florida under the direction of Heather Walts. From 2011-2013 she competed on the competition team at Just Dance Academy, placing in the top five in national competitions such as Starpower, Starbound and Bravo. From 2013-2015 Marissa began teaching the company team. as well as attended her first year at Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School. Currently, Marissa is a student at SPC, obtaining her Associates Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She plans to continue fulfilling her Dance Masters Training and pursue a nutrition degree in the state of Florida.
Caitlin Reichel was fortunate enough to be born and raised into a circus family. Until the age of 8 her family traveled with different circuses including Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus. Her family then moved to Florida where she began her training with the Orlando Ballet School Academy. Caitlin trained with OBSA six days a week and was a part of many of the professional company’s productions. Currently Caitlin travels the world doing circus events but calls Orlando home. She’s been from Japan to Jamaica. Performing at theme parks, music festivals, USO tours, NBA halftime shows, international corporate events and many productions home in Orlando. She really enjoys teaching on her down time. Breaking down technique to all ages helps grow any dancer.
Alyssa first found her passion for dance through her mother who performed with American Ballet Theatre in New York City, but she would go on to be a competitive gymnast full time at age 7. She was a Level 10 gymnast who earned a full NCAA collegiate gymnastic scholarship competing for Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. In college, Alyssa was an All-American gymnast and two time MAC Conference Champion who graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Event Management. After graduating, she moved back home to Orlando and fell in love with aerial acrobatics where she has had the opportunity to perform at theme parks, in theater productions and at corporate and private events across the US and Japan.
Miss Valerie has been dancing for 19 years, competitively dancing for 11 years and teaching for 8 years. When Valerie was a little dancer she loved any dance studio in her path. She has trained at multiple schools in her home town, South Lyon, Michigan, including dancing with the Cecchetti Council of America, American Dance Academy, Detroit Opera House, Luna Dance Company and now currently a performer at Walt Disney World.
Enjoying all types of dance, Valerie has endured many experiences specializing in modern, ballet, contemporary and improvisation. She has trained with some elite choreographers and performance company’s over the years including Will Thomas and George Lawrence, Sonya Tayeh from SYTYCD, Alvin Alley Company and many more mentors. She has also been a Special Performance Guest in The Academy of Russian Classical Ballet The Nutcracker, Spring Showcase and Ballet La Bayadere. Valerie has also traveled and assisted with Cathy King of Chicago Academy of Dance and assisted with hip hop / contemporary artist Nick Anthony.
Valerie is very proud to share her passion and love of dance to all students and see them grow into wonderful dancers.
Romina is originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She began her dance career at the age of 6 at the Instituto Coreográfico Argentino (Argentine Choreographic Institute) where she studied Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. After obtaining her degree she went to the Instituto Nacional de Artes (National Institute of Arts) where she trained and studied theoretical classes like Anatomy, Dance History and History of Art. She improved her studies in New York City at the Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway. Here she has trained with numerous instructors and international workshops. Romina has traveled as a Dancer and Aerialist with Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus for 12 years. She also performed on different TV shows and at events, festivals and circuses all over the world. Her most recent performance was with Universal Studios in the Macy’s Holiday Parade. She is excited to bring her passion for dance to the students at Creative Soles Dance Company.
Laura Grandlund has been a dancer for over 20 years, dancing competitively for 18 years and teaching for 12 years. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida Laura has trained and competed with a few studios in her hometown. Growing up she loved performing Jazz and Lyrical but has also specialized in Tap, Hip-Hop, Contemporary and Ballet. She has trained with numerous choreographers from around the world including but not limited to former Rockette Jill Wolins, Ade Obayomi and Mollee Gray from SYTYCD and Marinda Davis. One of her most memorable accomplishments was in 2011 when she was awarded the “Future Star” award at Starpower’s National Talent Competition in which she was featured in the December 2011 issue of Dance Spirit Magazine. Graduating from UCF in 2015 with her Bachelor’s in Health Service Administration, Laura works full time as an Administrative Coordinator at a pediatrics office in Downtown Orlando. Laura looks forward to teaching in her spare time and she continues her passion for dance not only by teaching locally but also attending classes herself.
Kaitlyn Albone is a well rounded performer and instructor native to the Philadelphia area working in Orlando for the Walt Disney World Resort. Most of her dance education took place at the Blue Bell School of Dance in Pennsylvania where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern dance. She performed in shows with BBSD for over 10 years until moving on to college at Eastern University where she studied ballet, jazz, modern and African Dance in addition to performing in and choreographing musicals and studying history. Musical theatre performance credits include Les Miserables, The King and I, Crazy For You, West Side Story, Carousel, Thirteen and two Musical Scenes Programs and three years of Show Choir in High School. Special workshops include two Disney workshops and performances and a workshop with the Rockettes in NYC. Kaitlyn possesses a strong theatrical and dance background and has a passion for teaching dance and choreography!
Krystal discovered her love of dance at Cecil Dance Center in her hometown of Rising Sun, Maryland. After that, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Dance Management at Oklahoma City University; and rounded out her education in New York City as a professional intern at Broadway Dance Center. She currently performs at Walt Disney World Resort in Magic Kingdom’s daily shows and parades. She also is an active member in the Orlando community arts, recently dancing at the Dr. Phillips Center with Encore Cast Performing Arts in productions of Aida, Ragtime and Hairspray. Krystal is enthusiastic about sharing her passion and looking forward to helping others find their love for dance!
